About Dr. Gierie
Dr. Bill Gierie has a passion for orthodontics that runs deep. His life was changed for ever when he received the gift of straight teeth. Fascinated by the process and the amazing results he was drawn to the profession. “I don’t feel like I’ve worked a day in my adult life because I love what I do,” says Dr. Gierie about his profession. His love of orthodontics has led him to share his knowledge with others. As part of the Invisalign Speakers Bureau, Dr. Gierie lectures internationally, teaching other orthodontists how to use the Invisalign system and sharing his latest innovations. As an associate adjunct professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina he shares his passion with young orthodontists in training.
Dr. Gierie is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society (where he served as a past president). When not practicing orthodontics or lecturing Dr. Gierie enjoys reading, computers, running, cycling and swimming.
Dr. Gierie and his wife, Heidi, have a daughter and two sons.
