About Dr. Gierie
Dr. William V. Gierie received his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and M.S. certificate in orthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was awarded a prestigious Brooks fellowship. Dr. Gierie is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. The only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists. He has been providing quality orthodontics in the Wilmington, North Carolina area since 1998.
As part of the Invisalign Speakers Bureau, Dr. Gierie lectures internationally, teaching other orthodontists how to use the Invisalign system and sharing his latest innovations. He also lectures to various study clubs and serves as a guest lecturer in the department of orthodontics at the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Gierie is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society (where he served as a past president). When not practicing orthodontics or lecturing Dr. Gierie enjoys reading, tennis, golf and computers.
Dr. Gierie and his wife, Heidi have a daughter and two sons.
